Professional wrestling manager and WWE Hall of Famer, Ric Flair underwent surgery on 14 August after being admitted to a hospital over the weekend. Melinda Morris Zanoni, CEO of Legacy Talent LLC has been posting updates about his condition and most recently informed that he underwent a successful procedure and was now on the road to recovery.
According to Wrestle Zone, Flair was put into a medically induced coma on Monday ahead of his surgery.
Following rumours that he was admitted for a heart condition, Zanoni stressed that the surgery was not heart-related. "Ric had surgery today (not [heart] related) am happy 2report it was a success. Still a long road ahead so plz keep [pray] 4Ric Charlotte Megan David & Wendy," she wrote on Twitter regarding her client's health.
While she did not disclose the cause of the 68-year-old's ill health, she previously posted asking for fans and friends to offer "prayers and positive energy" as he was dealing with "some tough medical issues".
WWE commentators Michael Cole, Corey Graves and Booker T acknowledged Flair's condition and offered him their best wishes. Pro wrestlers Mick Foley and John Cena, former wrestler Hulk Hogan and former WCW president Eric Bischoff also tweeted their support and concern for the veteran.
