Spanish police have revealed the identity of the main suspect behind the terror attack in Barcelona on 17 August.

At least 13 people, including a 3-year old, were killed when a van ploughed through the popular tourist spot Las Ramblas. 100 people were injured, of whom 15 are believed to be in critical condition.

Police believe at least four people were behind the carnage. Three of them – including suspect Driss Oukabir, who reportedly turned himself in – have been arrested so far.

Authorities have now identified Moussa Oukabir as the fourth suspect. Moussa is believed to be aged 17 or 18 years old.

Oukabir, the brother of Driss, is on the loose and is considered dangerous as he could be armed, Spanish news site El Mudon reported, citing police sources.

After turning himself in, Driss said he believed Moussa has stolen his passport to rent two vans, one of which was then used in the Las Ramblas attack.

Moussa is believed to be living in Ripoll, north of Barcelona, and had been radicalised months before the attack, according to El Periodico.

Some Spanish media outlets have claimed that an account on Kiwi.com – a question and answer website – linked to Moussa, had a post in which the suspect allegedly said he wanted to "kill all the infidels."

To the question: "If you were the absolute king of the world, what would you in your first day?", Moussa answered " Kill all the infidels and only allow Muslims who follow religion".

The Isis terror group has claimed responsibility for the attack on its news agency Amaq. However, such claims have often come in the aftermath of similar attacks across Europe, and are not reliable.

A few hours after the Las Ramblas incident, police also shot dead four people in a van who tried to launch a similar attack in Cambrils, 100km away from Barcelona. A fifth attacker, who was injured, later died. Six people were injured in that attack, including a police officer.
