Pink and her former motocross racer husband, Carey Hart, cycled 100 miles alongside 250 culinary professionals on 18 May, in order to raise money and awareness for charity No Kid Hungry, which aims to end childhood hunger in the US. The fundraiser usually spans three days – with the attendees cycling 300 miles – but the pair took part in a section of the annual Chefs Cycle event in Santa Rosa, California.

According to TV3, "Pink set a goal to raise $25,000 (£19,000) with the trek [but] is currently on more than $77,000 (£59,000), with donors including Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong and his wife Adrienne and Matthew McConaughey's wife Camila Alves".

The So What hitmaker - whose real name is Alecia Moore - documented the couple's journey via Instagram, regularly posting photo updates and videos of the event along the way. She began by sharing a selfie of the two of them – complete with their helmets and No Kid Hungry jerseys – saying: "Let's do this!"

Four hours (and 23.1 miles) later, she stated in a video: "We made it to rest stop one! We're doing good." Shortly after that, Pink took to social media again and showed no signs of slowing down on the enthusiasm. "Rest stop two, mile 37," she declared. "Yeah! Five miles more than I've ever gone in my life, I'm killing it. Just took two Advil – staying in the game!"

During her third break – at mile 47 – Pink, Hart and the rest of the cyclists stopped for some lunch at Williams-Sonoma and the singer fed their four-month-old son Jameson as she "hadn't seen him since 6:30am" that morning. "Everything hurts!" she finished in the clip.

The 37-year-old filmed her next video while cycling, taking the opportunity to reiterate to her 1.8m followers why she was taking part in the sporting event and encouraging viewers to give money where they could: "Here's the thing, this is for No Kid Hungry. There is still time to donate. A dollar goes a long way. One dollar is ten meals for one kid," she said. "Donate what you can. It means the world to us."

Two hours later, she was back online saying, "All right, we're at the last rest stop. 85 miles in, we have 15 miles to go." Fans following her journey were treated to one last video after that, where Pink detailed: "We made it. If the camera is shaking, it's 'cause my hands are shaking. I fell over, I cried, then I yelled, and then I figured there was nothing else to do, so I got back on my bike and finished it."
