Former children's entertainer Rolf Harris will face a fresh Crown Court trial, accused of sex offences, which starts on Monday 15 May. If found guilty, he will face additional time in jail.

The Australian-born TV performer is due to be set free from Stafford prison in six weeks' time, in the third week of June. Harris has spent nearly three years in jail, around half of his sentence. But before his release date, he will face new accusations.

He is facing a retrial on three charges, which the jury could not reach a verdict on, and also one new count, totalling four indecent assaults against three female teenagers. The 87-year-old denies all the charges.

"Rolf is now counting down the days. He isn't enjoying jail life at all and is desperate to get out," a source told the Mirror.

"His wife Alwen is 85 and has been in failing health, so he wants to be reunited with her as soon as possible."

Harris was convicted of 12 indecent assaults against four girls – the youngest being seven years old. The offences occurred between 1968 and 1986 and he received a sentence of five years and nine months in 2014.

The disgraced entertainer is said to have received a large tax payout of £100,000 after winding up his business earlier this year. He and his wife earned more than £1 million in December 2016 after Rolf Harris Entertainment was liquidated.

According to Mailonline, Harris paid his accountants £50,000 to liquidate his assets in order to get the tax rebate.

Harris is estimated to be worth around £11 million and also owns a £5 million house by the river Thames.

In September 2015, he agreed to pay £22,000 to Wendy Wild, his youngest victim, who he molested when she was seven years old, according to the Sunday People. This was the equivalent of 76p per day for the abuse she was subjected to which was over the period of 40 years. Wild had previously rejected the former entertainer's offers of £18,000 and £12,000.
